Sega's Shining Franchise Getting a New Entry
In Famitsu, Tsuyoshi Sawada, expressed that a new entry to the Shining series is definitely on the way. Not a lot of details were provided, but if I'm reading the statement correctly, we may see some info later this year. You can check out Sawada's statement below:
"It's been ten years since the Shining series was re-invented," Sawada commented. "Currently, we're preparing a title that sums up the whole series and should provide an answer to users' curiosity. I can't give details yet, but I'd like to reveal it before we go too far into the future."

Destructoid: Conduit 2 Review
"Both Jonathan Holmes and I found a solid amount of flaws with the original The Conduit,
but behind that we both discovered a fun and interesting game that
pushed the boundaries of what we'd seen on the Wii. Still, there was
plenty of room for improvement as you can probably tell by reading our
reviews. The guys at High Voltage heard that loud and clear. In fact,
I'm pretty positive they read our reviews and made adjustments based off
of our exact complaints to the letter. Almost everything about The Conduit 2 is an improvement on exactly what Jonathan and I complained about in our review."

Wii Console Succesor Not Giving up on Buttons
Despite tablet rumors that have been going around, Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata has told investors that it will not ditch buttons in favor of motion or tablet type gaming. Below you can check out the full quote made by Iwata:
“Whenever we make a new game console, we’ve done it without throwing away buttons and the directional pad… The reason for that it’s better to have them, because buttons and directional pads benefit gameplay response… Taking this into account… Nintendo isn’t planning on completely ditching buttons, nor is Nintendo thinking of taking tablets as they are today and implementing them in a game console.”

Four of the games revealed and detailed today are: Wind Runner, Treasure Twirl, Cone Zone, and Spooky Search.
- Wind Runner
- In Wind Runner your Mii avatar will be wearing a pair of roller skates and holding an umbrella. Using the Wii Remote Plus you can open the umbrella to help you race through a course. Moving the Wii Remote Plus will allow you to change direction, increase speed and even jump over obstacles as you race to the end of the course.
- Treasure Twirl
- Use the Wii Remote Plus as a winch to uncover deep sea treasure.
- Cone Zone
- Tilt the Wii Remote Plus to balance ice cream in a waffle cone
- Spooky Search
- This game is a little different. Players will have to search for spirits that have escaped the TV and into your room. Players will use the speaker to locate the Ghosts and then point to them off-screen to try and capture the ghosts and bring them back into the TV. This mode actually sounds pretty awesome.

Resident Evil Revelations Information Roundup
- Demo included with each copy of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
- Built using MT Framework, the same tech behind Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition.
- Takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, just after Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (the principle characters) co-found the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA).
- Part of the game takes place aboard a luxury cruise ship, set within a violent storm.
- You'll also explore a coastal town and crash site, set within a snowy mountain range. Europe appears to be the central location.
- Less action oriented than Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.
- Bigger emphasis on horror. Things jump out, there's a limited amount of ammo and you'll encounter a couple creatures at a time.
- Game still uses the over the shoulder perspective from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.
- You can move and aim at the same time, both in third and the new first person view.
- Touch screen lets you adjust the camera.
- Jill carries an automatic rifle with a bayonet attachment.
- Cruise ship slowly pitches back and forth during play.
- Monsters, while not confirmed, include a tentacle creature, a strange beast with a club like appendage and zombies.
- From what we saw in the original E3 2010 teaser, Chris and Jill are after something. It's apparently so valuable that they point their guns at each other.
- New character, possibly with an Australian accent, tied up on the boat.
- Hunk from Resident Evil 2, or at least someone in similar gear, may make an appearance.
- Story was written to appeal to longtime fans and newcomers

Wiiloveit.com Interview with Brian Etheridge of D3Publisher on Dream Trigger 3D
Wiiloveit.com: Can you tell us about the general concept of Dream Trigger and outline the main principles of the game design?
BE: Dream Trigger 3D
started out as a title built from the ground up for the 3DS. When we
learned of the hardware and what it was capable of, we decided that we
wanted to make a game that could only be played on that system. Art Co.
is great at making shooters, so we wanted to harness their ability and
try to add a twist that was truly unique. The idea of using both screens
in tandem with our Sonar system is what we feel makes it stand out. In
short, Dream Trigger is an abstract shooter that takes advantage
of the 3DS graphics and controls to create something unlike any other
shooter out there.

Nintendo Life Interview: High Voltage Software - Conduit 2
NL: One big issue that reviewers took with the original
Conduit was the overall repetitive, unimaginative nature of the level
design. How has this been addressed in the sequel?
We completely revamped how we design our levels. This started with technical improvements like cells and portals and better streaming efficiency, and was combined with a more thorough level design process. Our designers were able to create game space from day one of the game’s development. This meant that we could play the game very early on and iterate on the designs throughout development. This process led to levels with branching paths, more secret areas, verticality, lots of open areas, and overall a much better progression pace.

Rumor: Banjo Kazooie (and other Rare titles) Possibly Headed to 3DS
The latest in a long line of Nintendo rumors going around the internet is one that might make Rare fans happy. There are reportedly discussions between Nintendo and Rare that would see the latter develop titles for the 3DS. This would include the Banjo Kazooie franchise, as well as other Rare titles (Killer Instinct Please.) It wouldn't be a strange pairing as Rare has previously developed titles for the Nintendo DS, such as the Diddy Kong Racing port. Apparently a sequel to Star Fox Adventures is also being discussed.

Nintendo Not Giving up on Wii, Un-Announced Games on the Way
Nintendo has been busy as of late with the 3DS and now with all of the "Project Cafe" rumors floating around, some would say too busy for the Wii. Yes, it's true that the Wii has seen somewhat of a software drought lately, and actually only two big titles that come to mind; Conduit 2 and Mario Sports Mix. However, it seems that Nintendo isn't going to let the Wii sit around for much longer, and why should they? Their next console isn't due out until 2012, so that would leave a lot of space to fill. Satoru Iwata has commented on this situation:
"Other new titles currently unannounced will be ready to be launched within this year. Before the launch of the Wii successor, we will be aiming at creating other excitement for Wii in Japan, which has a large installed base of Wii hardware."Looks like Nintendo has some plans up their sleeve and they will most likely be revealed at E3. On Another note, Iwata is referring to Japan in that quote, but with very little announced in other regions it is safe to assume that Nintendo will also be giving the US/UK the same treatment. I guess we will find out on June 7 folks!

Epic Mickey Review
"Epic Mickey (sometimes marketed as Disney Epic Mickey)
is a 2010 Mickey Mouse action-adventure platforming video game designed
by Warren Spector and developed by Junction Point Studios for the Wii
console. The game focuses on Mickey Mouse, who accidentally damages a
world created by Yen Sid for forgotten characters and concepts, and is
forced to fix the world while combating antagonists with a
magic paintbrush. Epic Mickey notably features the first
appearance ofOswald the Lucky Rabbit since 1928 as a major character,
who was one of Walt Disney’s first successful cartoon characters before
the character was licensed under the ownership of Universal Studios. The
character was regained by The Walt Disney Company in 2006 under the

Nintendo Life Interview: Monster Tale's Peter Ong
Were you considering any other types of genre mash-ups before
settling on these, or did you know from the outset that you wanted
these specific two?
"The decision to go with the action-platforming and pet-raising/RPG genres was made fairly quickly. However, many other interesting ideas came up during our brainstorming sessions. Although those ideas weren’t the right fight for us at the time, we’re actually still very interested in them for the future. We’re sitting on so many great ideas we can’t wait to bring into reality someday, that sometimes it’s frustrating we can’t make 10 games a year while maintaining our current dedication to each one’s quality."

Nintendo Life Review: Conduit 2
"When High Voltage Software first decided to enter the Wii first-person
shooter space, competition wasn’t exactly something they really had to
worry about. Sure, there had been a few half-hearted ports of popular
franchises, but The Conduit
was the first proper FPS developed specifically for the console. It
didn’t really seem to matter that the game itself turned out as pretty
generic genre fare — because hey, finally, an online Wii shooter! — and
by default set the bar for online features and controls."

Nintendo 3DS Could Act as A "Project Cafe" Controller + No Friend Codes for New Console
Miyamoto has told Gameyko in a recent interview that the Nintendo 3DS may possibly be used as a controller for the New Nintendo Console. I would think that interaction between the 3DS and new console is a given, but would using it as a controller be neat? Obviously it wouldn't serve as the primary controller, but I guess it could be cool for other uses. On another note, Nintendo will not be using friend codes on the new console. Information is scarce at the moment and whether or not it will work like the 3DS friend code is unknown.

Miyamoto Talks about Various Upcoming Nintendo Projects
Super Mario 3D
- Super Mario 3D is still under intensive development.
- Mario Kart 3D will be released this year.
- Super Mario 3D will be a combination of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario 3D will be fully unveiled at E3 2011.
- The logo of Super Mario 3D has a raccoon tail, and He says it is what you think it will be
- Super Mario 3D will include a fixed camera system, slightly like the one you saw in Super Mario 64, in which the camera does not move and Mario walks around on the screen. This time you will really feel the depth. Shigeru Miyamoto explains that this method brings dynamism to the staging of the game. This game mechanic certainly will impress and entertain the players says Miyamoto.
Nintendo 3DS
- Nintendo is also testing a game in which an image is only visible to the left eye, and another image is only visible to the right eye. Miyamoto would for instance use this original concept for a Ghost game in which the player would not necessarily see what is coming in front of him! Miyamoto says he loves Ghost stories!
- Nintendo is currently thinking about a possible connectivity between the Nintendo 3DS and a future home console, the Nintendo 3DS could be used as a controller. Nintendo is still testing many ideas.
- Someone asked about the lack of dual analog on the 3DS. Miyamoto says that a second stick had been considered but they decided against it because it's common to use just a finger to play. Adds that proper implementation of gyro controls should be better than a second stick for the purpose of controlling a camera.
- Flipnote Studio is on its way to the Nintendo 3DS and will remain Free
- Miyamoto would love to remake The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past for Nintendo 3DS in 3D of course
- Miyamoto says the focus is definitely now (and in the future) on gaming
Starfox 64 3D
- Starfox 64 3D : Motion controls in StarFox, too. You can select
the aiming mode in the options (as in, shooting directly at your target
or taking into account your beam's movement and that of your target).
- Starfox 64 3D development is finished. This time, the game will have the same name in all countries.
OOT 3D
- The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3D development is finished. Nintendo is now checking the translations of the game. The game will be available shortly after E3 2011.
- The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3D is an improved version. The game now runs at 30 frames per second on 3DS, instead of 20 frames per second for the original version.
- The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3D includes a special mode in which you can fight all the bosses of the game.
- Master Quest mode lets you play in mirror mode (reverse all the backgrounds, enemies appear and move in different ways, etc.).
- Miyamoto reiterates the point about how using the touchscreen in OoT3DS helps with the Water Temple. Mentions to specifically watch the cutscenes in 3D. 30fps made it necessary to rework the animations. You can aim the bow/slingshot by moving the system. Miyamoto recommends to do this when no one's around to see you
New AR Games Are in Development
Miyamoto recently confirmed that new AR Games are in development for the 3DS. No other information has been released, but E3 seems like the perfect place to drop some new announcements regarding AR Games.

Nintendo Life Review: Mega Man X (VC)
"Spinoffs in popular franchises have delivered historically mixed results over the years, but when Capcom spun the X series off of Mega Man,
not only did they create a new line every bit as intense and engaging
as the originals, but arguably even more polished and fun to a certain
degree. And now, after a rather lengthy wait, Capcom have thankfully
brought the first release in the Mega Man X series to the Virtual Console."
