There have been Rayman Origins 2 rumors going around for a couple of weeks now, but today it seems like there may be some truth to them. A trailer for Rayman Legends leaked earlier today which also happens to showcase some Wii U features. Online play is confirmed, as well as some social features, which I'm sure analysts will eat up. However, the most interesting tidbit is no doubt the use of the Wii U controller.
We can see that while Wii Remote players are watching the TV, the person holding the Wii U controller can use its screen to not only play, but also interact with the environment. We also see the players adding characters to the game, much like you would with Skylanders. This will look to take advantage of the newly announced NFC features that Nintendo revealed awhile back.
Does this leak get you excited for E3 2012, or what?
Ubisoft has come forward with a statement insisting that this is an internal video and may not represent all the features presented:
“An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins’ sequel has leaked over the Internet,” said the firm. “This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features."
